Kereta diwajibkan memasang beg udara untuk keselamatkan mulai 2012

Mulai tahun depan (2012), semua kenderaan baru kecuali kenderaan pacuan empat roda diwajibkan memasang beg udara untuk tujuan keselamatan.

Menteri Pengangkutan, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha berkata, kereta diwajibkan memasang beg udara bertujuan mengelak risiko lebih tinggi termasuk kematian terhadap pemandu atau penumpang yang terlibat dalam kemalangan jalan raya.

Beliau berkata, kerajaan memandang serius kadar kemalangan jalan raya sekarang terutama yang membabitkan kemalangan maut akibat tiada peralatan keselamatan yang cukup pada kenderaan awam.

"Mulai tahun depan, kerajaan akan mewajibkan semua kenderaan dipasang beg udara bagi keselamatan pemandu dan penumpang kenderaan," katanya

Pemasangan beg udara itu hanya terhad kepada kereta baru sahaja manakala kereta lama sedia ada tidak diwajibkan.

Birthday as Driving Licence Renewal Expiry Date in Malaysia

It is a good step to ensure all drivers to remember when they need to renew their license. But need to sort out some issue regarding the late renewal date etc. What do you think?

Using one’s birthday as the expiry date for their driving license is being considered by the Road Transport Department.

Transport Minister said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said Tuesday this was because many drivers used the excuse that they had forgotten to renew their license when they were caught driving with an expired one.

“If the holder’s next birthday is less than six months after the expiry date of their license, the fee for the period will be free of charge,” he told a press conference at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur.

However, he said, if the period between the holder’s next birthday and the expiry date of the license was more than six months, they would be charged 50% of the renewal fee.

He said license holders were still allowed to renew their licenses for up to five years if such a system was implemented.
